sorry for all the journals recently, but I need a bit of help and advice, and I guess it's nice I'm trying to be a part of this community for once rather than staying pretty reclusive, huh?

Please excuse my ignorance on the subject.

I've been interested in trying out photography for a long time now but I've never known where to start. I'm just hoping to grab the attention of some photographers here on DA and see if they can give me a bit of help about picking out a digital camera to start off with. I'm still unsure if I should just buy a cheaper camera for me to try things out with, or save everything up and go for a better quality camera right away, I mean surely investing in a better quality one will be much worth it, even if I am an amateur. I also want a camera mostly for concerts, I want to try and get into doing live performances of bands as I attend concerts on a weekly basis. If I recall different cameras are pretty much made for different types of photography so I thought I'd let people understand what I want a camera for.

Live Performances is my main priority.
Then I wouldn't mind being able to work with bands doing promo shots, or various models etc.
and then last is just doing general scenery.

I don't know if it's impossible to ask for a camera that can work with all three types well, but overall I just want something that can help me work closer with bands and musicians. Hell I might even invest in two cameras for two different things if I have to. Anyway, what I'm asking is for recommendations of where to start, what products, models, lens, what price range I should be looking at, any general advice about photography or getting into it.

And sorry to sound rude, but last time I asked about this, the only reply I got was a link to a website that had a list of cameras. It really doesn't help as I have absolutely no idea what I'm looking for and if I'm being ripped off. I want to be careful about what I buy, and getting advice from people who know what they're doing is usually the best way to go about it.

Also, since there's a lot of illustrators who watch me. If you don't know anything about photography, but know some photographers, then please link them here or something~ I really need some help with all this. All help is aprpeciated, thank you in advance
